Fury as quad bikers 'drive Leeds residents crazy' by tearing up field in Christmas Day rampage

A number of Meanwood residents have spoken out after they had seen individuals riding quad bikes on a popular grass bank in a residential area on Christmas Day.

Images of the field shows that the grass has been torn up by the quad bikes, with residents saying that 'they knew exactly what they were doing'.

Residents have said that this is not the first time that this has happened on the grass bank on Carr Manor Lane.

One woman said that the individuals have usually driven around the area on quad bikes without wearing helmets, but said this was the first time that they had gone onto the grass bank.

She said: "As soon as the quad bike went on the grass, it just took it all up immediately. They were laughing when it was happening, so they knew exactly what they were doing.

"Obviously, you want people to have fun and enjoy themselves - but what they have done is completely ruin the grass."

Images have since been shared across social media on a Meanwood Facebook group.

Mary Barker-Read said: "They drive us crazy too on the Carrholms, seems particularly bad on a Thursday evening."

While Claire Atkinson said: "They were up and down Miles Hill View all day yesterday a quad and a bike, so annoying! I approached them once in the summer and they threatened to kill my husband."

West Yorkshire Police have a dedicated page for residents to report nuisance bikes / quad bikes / off-roaders.

LeedsLive have contacted West Yorkshire Police for a comment.
