Fury as people caught 'urinating in the street' following 'street party' in Ouseburn

Residents were left horrified after people were caught urinating in the street following a "street party" in Ouseburn.

Police received reports of anti-social behaviour on Maling Street, Ouseburn, at around 9.20pm last Friday.

A furious local said the group, who were congregating at the bottom of the street, were also using a sound system.

They added: "It was like a street party for want of a better word."

Northumbria Police confirmed that officers were called out following reports of anti-social behaviour.

However, by the time police arrived the revellers had already left the area.

A force spokesperson said: “At around 9.20pm on Friday we received a report of anti-social behaviour on Maling Street, Ouseburn.

“It was reported a group of people had been drinking and were urinating in the street.

“When officers attended, everyone had already dispersed from the area.

“We would ask that everyone continues to follow the Government guidelines in order to prevent further spread of coronavirus. "
