Further signs of downturn

Gordon Brown sees his performance queried once more in today's Guardian as his forecasts are queried once more, while penny-pinching corporates are doing even more to undermine the economy according to the same paper. Further economic warnings come from The Times, which says UK workers are ignoring warnings over pensions while yesterday's Observer noted that there will be more tax rulings coming from the EU rather than the UK.

The Observer has found an interesting new form of business; maybe it'll avoid the need to sign a pointless tax form as highlighted by the Telegraph this morning.

There is of course a lot of speculation about what's going to happen to tourism after the bombings and erroneous shooting last week with the Daily Telegraph seeing even more evidence of a downturn; The Independent looks East for new customers.
