Further rain warning issued for Nottingham after floods batter the county

The Met Office is warning that heavy rain is expected to return to Nottinghamshire next week as the county still reels from severe flooding.

Heavy rainfall battered the area this week, leaving north Nottinghamshire flooded with evacuations in Worksop and Mansfield.

On Saturday and Sunday rising river levels also affected the Trent which has led to flood warnings for Newark, Holme Pierrepont and for the Queens Drive park and ride which was closed as a precaution.

And two homeless men were rescued after becoming trapped inside a wheelie bin in Worksop.

The men had been sleeping in the bin and had become trapped inside on Thursday night (November 7).

When fire crews rescued the men they were up to their necks deep in water.
