Further cases of coronavirus in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire recorded in last 24 hours

Two new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Nottinghamshire according to new data released today (July 9), and another three in Nottingham.

In Nottingham, 1,176 cases have now been recorded while cases in Nottinghamshire have risen to 2,958.

Across the UK, 85 more people have died after testing positive for Covid-19 – bringing the total up to 44,602. The number of confirmed cases has risen by 642 to 287,621.

This is the breakdown for each region of Nottinghamshire:

  • Gedling - 375 (no change)
  • Rushcliffe - 380 (no change)
  • Mansfield - 342 (no change)
  • Newark and Sherwood - 312 (no change)
  • Ashfield - 566 (+1)
  • Broxtowe - 425 (no change)
  • Bassetlaw - 558 (+1)

As of July 9, the number of deaths in Nottinghamshire hospitals is as follows:

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - 270 (last death recorded for June 30)

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust - 13 (last death recorded for May 2)

Ramsay Health UK - Nottingham Woodthorpe - 1 (last death recorded for April 24)

Outdoor swimming pools in England are to begin reopening from Saturday, with indoor pools, gyms and other sports facilities to follow on July 25, the Government has announced.

In the latest easing of lockdown restrictions, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport has also published guidance to enable competitive grassroots team sports to resume, beginning with cricket this weekend.

Outdoor arts performances – including theatres, opera, dance and music – will also be able to resume from the weekend although audience numbers will be restricted and will be subject to social distancing rules.
