Sixteen more people have died in the UK after testing positive for coronavirus within the last 28 days.
And another 1,048 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.
A total of 41,465 people have now died, Public Health England has announced.
Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have now been 57,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
As of shortly before 5pm on Wednesday, August 26, a total of 328,846 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the UK - up from 327,798 the day before.
NHS England said on Wednesday that a further nine people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital in England, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 29,524.
The patients were aged between 39 and 84, and all had known underlying health conditions.
Public Health Wales confirmed that a further 34 had tested positive in Wales, and recorded one new death since yesterday.
Meanwhile the Scottish Government said the total number of people who have tested positive has risen by 67 to 19,988.
Two more patients who tested positive have died, bringing the country's death toll to 2,494.
