Furious road rage woman mounts pavement to confront lorry driver - only to forget her handbrake

A furious woman that illegally overtook a lorry to confront the driver was left red-faced when her car started to roll down the street as she left the vehicle.

Scott McCready was driving a Mercedes 26-tonne vehicle when the road rage incident happened at 10am on Friday.

The fellow driver’s tempers flared when Scott turned left into a side road, reports Liverpool Echo .

Footage taken by the lorry driver shows a Vauxhall mount the pavement on the narrow street in a dangerous attempt to overtake the HGV.

The woman inside slows her car down before bringing it to a halt and making an approach towards the lorry on foot.

But while she’s storming over, the driver fails to notice that she has left her handbrake off.

Dressed in an aqua jacket, she begins to shout at him but he quickly interrupts her and says: "Put your handbrake on love.”

The woman then panics, turns around and runs after her car, which is seen rolling down the street.

She then returns to berate him and says: "You know when you put your finger up to me? You were on camera."

Scott, from Wirral, replies: "Did you not put it up to me?”

In front of the mobile phone, she then says: "I'm not on camera, you are."

A voice then says: "You are now you f***ing divvy."

Speaking after the incident, Scott said: "It's quite funny really that her car started rolling downhill.

"But when you watch it several times you start to see a bit more of a serious side to it.

"It was a potentially dangerous manoeuvre to overtake on the pavement and she's lucky that nobody is hurt.”

Dozens of Twitter users commented underneath the video.

Jamie Pav wrote: "Can’t believe you told her her car was rolling, I’d have just watched."

Sean Chriscole said: "I don't think there's anything more quintessentially British and in turn cringe than two people arguing over whose got whom on camera."
