Furious Primark shopper demands refund after 'being sold dead man's t-shirt'

A Primark shopper is furiously demanding a refund after claiming she was sold a dead man's t-shirt.

Carrie, from Edinburgh, said she paid £1.50 for the plain white slim-fit top from the Princes Street store in Edinburgh to wear for her new job.

But after wearing it for a day, she noticed she could feel an itchy tag, which upon inspection was attached to the official Primark label with a man's name on it.

She ranted in a TikTok video: "Okay, so I have to talk about something for a hot minute.

“Basically I bought this T-shirt from Primark.

"I got it just when I was starting work so this was in May or so.

“When I wore it I was like 'oh there's an Itchy tag' so I look at it and there's a f***ing name,

“So I didn't think much of it. I thought someone had just dodgily returned a top back to Primark and I had been unfortunate to buy it.

“But then my friends were around the other day and they were looking through a bag of clothes that I was going to throw away.

“They pulled out the white top and I said ‘oh my god that top, I haven't told anyone’. Them being a lot more clever than me, they said Google it.

“So we Googled his name - dead man. I also googled the hospital on the little tag - it's a dementia ward.”

Carrie found a death notice which said the man in question died in 2020.

Carrie is requesting that Primark investigate the situation and a full refund of the £1.50 she spent on the top in their Edinburgh store.

Carrie added: “Like this is attached to the Primark label. I just want to know why did Primark send me a dead man’s T-shirt and what do i do with it.

Other TikTok users spotted that the t-shirt wasn't even from the fashion season in 2021 - and the top should've been sold back in 2019.

One user wrote: “Tag also has SS19 which means it was from spring summer collection 2019.”

Another user put up an interesting theory as to why the top was allegedly resold: "Maybe it was bought and tagged with his name and then he passed before he got to wear it so it was returned?

A Primark spokesperson told the Mirror: “We will look into this if the customer wants to get in contact with customer services and we’ll be more than happy to assist her.”
