Furious Piers Morgan blasts former GMB bosses over 'snivelling' Shamima Begum interview

By Susan Knox

Piers Morgan has hit out at his former Good Morning Britain bosses for allowing ISIS bride Shamima Begum to appear on the ITV show.

The 56-year-old TV presenter, who sensationally quit the show back in March, hit out at his former Good Morning Britain team for allowing the controversial personality to air her ‘freedom of speech’ and claimed he wasn’t allowed to while presenting the show.

After Shamima’s bombshell interview with Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley, Piers took to Twitter to slam the ISIS bride.

Although she begged the British people for forgiveness during the show, Piers told Shamima to ‘rot’ before hitting out at the Good Morning Britain team.

“Just as well I’m not interviewing this lying, snivelling, cold-hearted, self-serving ISIS bride monster,” Piers ranted.

He added: “Or I’d have seriously lost my temper by now.

"Begum should never be allowed back to Britain. Let her rot in the terror bed she made for herself."

In another seething post, Piers penned: “Interesting times we live in when an ISIS terror bride is allowed to exercise her right to freedom of speech on GMB but I wasn’t.”

During the tense interview, Shamima donned western clothing as she called herself a ‘victim’ and begged Britain for forgiveness.

She appeared via video link from a Syrian refugee camp where she also denied being a terrorist or a criminal and insisted she had no idea ISIS was a 'death cult' when she first joined.

The 22-year-old is currently banned from the UK after marrying a jihadi with spy agencies denying her claims she was just a Raqqa housewife.

Instead, they believe she was a member of the terror group's feared 'morality police' and was even seen stitching suicide bombers into explosive vests.

Shamima insisted that she is a victim of ‘grooming’ by extremists and would now 'rather die' than rejoin ISIS.

“No one can hate me more than I hate myself for what I've done and all I can say is I'm sorry and just give me a second chance,” she pleaded in the interview.

Good Morning Britain continues tomorrow at 6AM on ITV.
