Furious Normal People fans have flooded social media with hate for Marianne's brother after he attacked her.
The rocky relationship between the two siblings came to a head when he slammed a door in her face in the penultimate episode, breaking her nose.

The final two episodes, which revealed how Marianne and Connell repaired their relationship over the summer, aired on RTE last night.
It showed the two finally getting together, living as a couple while they both finished college, before Connell gets offered a place in a Masters course in New York, with the pair having an amicable break up.
Furious fans took to Twitter to lash out at Marianne's brother Alan, calling him an "awful c**t."

Fan Marty tweeted: "So here. Why is the brother such thundering c**t? Why's the mother doing nothing? "
Lauren said: "Marianne’s brother is 2020 personified."
Robert tweeted: "Marianne’s brother is the manifestation of what happens if you don’t get away from your home town and how it’ll erode your sanity and make you full of hatred."
Some fans were disappointed with Connell's reaction to Alan hurting Marianne, feeling like he should've done more.
Rory added: "Finished Normal People... Top class show. Only disappointment was that you didn't take Marianne's brother's head off when ya had a good reason to @mescal_paul"
Sean said: "Connell disappointed me in the second last episode. He should have beaten the head off Marianne’s brother. Threats are fine but action is so much better."
