Furious Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson blasts players' attitudes

Raging Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson tore a strip off his players and told them they're not giving him enough.

The Fir Park boss was far from happy with his side's 2-2 draw at home to Livingston, and while praising midfielder Allan Campbell, said he's playing with just seven players each week.

Campbell and David Turnbull were on the score-sheet to take a point following back-to-back 1-0 defeats against Dundee United and Ross County, and Robinson was far from happy.

He's looking gor a big reaction when Motherwell travel to high-flying Hibs at Easter Road on Saturday.

He said: "We got a point but that was the only thing I was happy with.

“We battled and some players were at the top of their game, guys like Allan Campbell, who it means everything to them when they put that shirt on.

“Give me 11 Allan Campbells in the team. Leave him out and that’s the reaction you get.

“But I have been patient with players but some of them were told tonight in no uncertain terms we are playing with seven men each week.

“That won’t keep happening. People have bad games and make mistakes, but I saw some things tonight I simply won’t settle for.

“This club has been good to people, it’s rescued careers and given them a platform. I don’t know if they are listening to agents, getting their heads filled with rubbish.

“But they need to do it here before anyone leaves this football club. I am expecting a big reaction on Saturday.

"People can’t be in the team every single week. We have a good squad and when I see reactions like I did from people who aren’t in the team, I won’t have it at the football club.

“It needs a lot more respect than that.

“I’ve told them I expect a reaction. We are a good side but we can’t just turn up and expect it to happen.

“We had some chances but we didn’t deserve to win the game. They are a really hard side to play against, they put every ball in to the box.

“I thought we dealt with it.

“Jordan White is one of the ones who comes out with some credit but we need people to step up.

“David Turnbull is one of the ones who should be strolling about thinking he can get a move but he’s not. He’s one of our boys who gets on with it.

“He’s coming back, he scored his goal and he’ll get better and better.”
