Furious Midlothian neighbourhood all wake up to no milk as 'thieves caught on camera'

Two hooded figures have been 'caught on camera stealing milk' and other dairy products from a Midlothian local’s doorstep.

One woman posted footage on social media to warn those living in the Dalkeith area that her dairy delivery had been snatched in the early hours of August 6.

She was met with an overwhelming response from neighbours claiming that their dairy deliveries have also been going missing over the last couple of weeks.

In the video, two hooded individuals wearing tracksuits who appear to be male approach the doorstep of the property and are seen picking up the dairy delivery before taking off in a vehicle.

The Dalkeith resident, who captured the footage on a ring camera, told Edinburgh Live: “I hope they choke on my yogurts.

“They stole our milk, yogurt and eggs and we were done out of our Weetabix.

“Trying to see the funny side of it but obviously I feel bad for the milk company as so many people will stop ordering now.

“This is the first time it’s happened to us, but looking at the comments on my post it seems to be happening all the time.”

Other people living in the Dalkeith area also reported having their dairy products ‘stolen’ with one person saying: “I caught them stealing mines the other week.”

Another said: “We've had lots of problems recently.

“The police do actually want it reported so they can hopefully do something about it.

“We had ours stolen all last week.”

A third penned: “We had our milk stolen same people… we also caught them on our ring camera.

“We called the police and they took a report."

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
