Furious man filmed punching and headbutting windscreen of moving car

A man has been captured kneeling on a car bonnet while headbutting and punching the windscreen as it drives along a busy road.

Wearing only black shorts and a vest, he is undeterred even when it picks up speed to go through traffic lights.

The man then appears to headbutt the car, which was driving along Burleys Way in Leicester.

Police were called and he was arrested and taken to hospital with injuries. They are not thought to be serious.

It is not known what led up to the incident.

The man allegedly also caused damage to other vehicles.

A Leicestershire police spokesman said: "A man has been arrested by officers following reports of a number of vehicles being damaged during an incident in Leicester.

"Police were called to Burleys Way, near to the junction with St Margaret's Way, at about 5.50pm yesterday where a man had been seen trying to break the windscreen of a car and cause damage to other vehicles in the road.

"A number of officers were deployed to the scene where a man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and assault.

"He was initially taken to custody and then to hospital for treatment to injuries.

"No motorists have reported being injured in the incident and Burley's Way was closed temporarily. It has since been reopened."

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
