Furious Loose Women clash as seething Denise told to be quiet by Gloria in hypocrisy row

Loose Women's panelists became embroiled in a furious row this afternoon over government restrictions, with Denise Welch and Gloria Hunniford clashing over restrictions imposed by the government.

Denise, 63, lashed out at the government over football fans being able to watch the Euros in their thousands in stadiums while loved ones weren't able to go in ambulances together.

The government has been carrying out "test events" at football stadiums and music stadiums as part of a pilot ahead of the planned relaxation of Covid restrictions.

"I feel so angry with the double standards," Denise fumed. "When we were asked to clap for careers [...] the government allowed clap for carers to become a carnival."

Recalling that a woman's sons were threatened with arrest at a funeral after they wanted to hug their mum, Denise said that her own dad has been "very sick".

"He was very poorly the other night and had to be transported to another hospital in the middle of the night," she said. "He had to go alone in an ambulance because I wasn't allowed to go."

Gloria hit back at Denise over her remarks (ITV)

Denise began to become passionate as she raged: "That day, I am looking at the football crowds outside, who have been able to gather in London, and I'm not allowed - double jabbed myself - my father double jabbed, the paramedics double jabbed, and I am not allowed to travel in an ambulance while this is going on with my father!

"And that is one person out of thousands of millions who have not been able to do this through this crisis!"

Ruth interjected, saying that the fans who all gathered in London weren't invited down, saying: "They were told not to come, actually."

Denise was left incredibly frustrated (ITV)

"Well, they weren't..." Denise began, before Gloria said that she "wanted to pick her up on a couple of points".

"I don't believe the NHS had a carnival every time they came to clap outside," Gloria retorted pointedly. "I have to say - and you can nitpick any situation - but there-"

As Denise tried to interrupt, Gloria said firmly: "Hang on a second, Denise. But I just feel like the NHS has done everything they possibly can. I think they have been amazing."

The pair went on to clash, with Denise blasting "virtual signalling" and Gloria asking her to be quiet.

At the end of the row, Denise breathed: "We'll agree to disagree, Gloria, because I respect your... opinions."

Gloria responded: "Ok, let's send Boris on holiday and have Denise as prime minister."

Awkward...
