Furious Loose Women row as Carol and Charlene shout over one another in tense jab debate

The tension was palpable in the Loose Women studio today as Carol McGiffin and Charlene White furiously clashed during a debate about the booster Covid jab.

The panelists were posed with the question as to whether those who refuse the booster should be subjected to more Covid testing.

Coleen Nolan suggested that "if people don't want to have it then they don't have to have it", but that she personally would be choosing to have it as her sisters are vulnerable.

Carol went on to rage that it wasn't an incentive and that people would have their privileges taken away.

Charlene interjected: "In just a point of clarification, on the news programmes that I do, when they started talking about the vaccine every single scientist and GP that we spoke to on those programmes were very clear about the fact that yes, we have these two jabs but it will become a yearly thing in order to keep Covid out of circulation in the general population."

Carol made a face as she exclaimed: "But it doesn't though!"

"In terms of more dangerous variants coming in," Charlene explained. "There were very honest about that. And [Coleen] talked about the flu vaccination programme, they did compare it to that. They said in the same way that flu changes every year is the reason you have to have a flu jab every year. And every single scientist that we spoke to did say that."

"And no one actually moans about a flu jab, do they?" Coleen pointed out.

"Well, no, they don't," Charlene responded.

Carol shouted: "It's been around for a long time!"

"This isn't mandatory," Charlene pointed out, but Carol cut in and raised her voice: "But they're making it mandatory by saying 'you can't do this and you can't do that'."

The pair began to talk over one another before Charlene pointed out that if she wanted to travel to Kenya to go and see a friend who lives there that she has to have the Yellow Fever jab.

"I have the Yellow Fever jab because I want to travel," she said. "It's my choice to go to Kenya so it's my choice to take the Yellow Fever jab in order to make sure I'm protected and they're protected."
