Furious Lee Bowyer singles out Nottingham Forest trio for praise

Lee Bowyer highlighted the commitment of three Nottingham Forest players following his Birmingham City side’s 3-0 defeat to the Reds.

Rejuvenated Forest made it four games unbeaten, with three coming under new manager Steve Cooper, thanks to goals from Lewis Grabban, Ryan Yates and Djed Spence at St Andrew’s.

But Bowyer was left furious with the errors his side committed and said some of his players did not work as hard as Forest's.

“I like to think I have been respectful and given certain people the benefit of the doubt. ‘Come on, I have seen you do this, don’t go back to the old ways’. Then it’s their choice as a player," said Bowyer after being asked if his patience had run out with certain players, reported BirminghamLive

“You want to do that? OK, you don’t play. You want to do that, keep clean sheets? Then you play.

“It’s not just the defenders. Scott Hogan gave the ball away so cheaply. [Lewis] Grabban fighting to keep the ball for his team every time the ball went up to him.

“Young [Brennan] Johnson is a kid, fighting to keep the ball for his team, don’t give it away cheaply.

“Lyle Taylor came off the bench, fighting to keep the ball for his team. Scott Hogan just gave it away like not a care in the world, time and time again. Guess what? Don’t work with me.”
