Furious Game of Thrones fans troll writers over final series in most hilarious way

Despite eight successful years and a worldwide cult following, it seems Game of Thrones has not left the legacy it had hoped for as fans continue to troll its creators over the show’s less than stellar ending.

While the show came to an end in May, Game of Thrones remains at the top of Google ’s search algorithm weeks later.

However, that’s not down to the show’s almost decade-long success - it's actually the handiwork of a Reddit user and the phrase “bad writers”.

The campaign came about following the airing of The Last of the Starks episode.

On May 6, just one day after the episode was aired, the disgrunted Reddit user created a post titled “Bad Writers. Upvote this post so its the first result when you google ‘Bad writers.'”

The cheeky post now means that whenever anyone types "bad writers" into Google, the search engine will throw back images of GoT creators David Benioff and DB Weiss.

Actress Sophie Turner had warned fans to prepare for disappointment ahead of the final ever episode, leaving many fretting over what would become of the Iron Throne.

In fact, Season 8 of GoT was heavily criticised by its army of loyal fans from the minute it kicked off, with many unable to get their heads around the storylines that were thrown their way.

The faster pace of the final six episodes, combined with a massive plot twist ending, left viewers fuming, with many plotting their “revenge” over their lack of closure.

However, despite the international outrage, George RR Martin - the man whose novels were the base of the series - has remained positive and supportive of the TV show's creators.

As his final two GoT books are yet to be release, he suggested that he too had been in the dark about how the HBO adaptation of his work would pan out.

It is widely claimed his books will not end in the same manner as the TV series.

As for the Game of Thrones writers, both are currently slated to write and produce their own Star Wars movie trilogy for Disney.

The first film is scheduled to be released in 2022.
