Furious drivers issue warning over 'unjust' parking fines at The Range

Shoppers were outraged after they were hit with "unjustified" parking fines at The Range.

Drivers have been taking to social media to say they have received fines from The Range in St Helens for a variety of different reasons.

Dozens of shoppers have recently taken to social media to say they have received a fine after parking at the St Helens store, branding it as "disgusting" and "unjustified".

Some shoppers even said it has put them off returning to the store.

One motorist said they own a larger car and so parking wholly in the bay was "a little difficult" but she was given a fine anyway.

Others said despite shopping in the store, they received a fine when they left the premises for "just a few minutes".

Users have also taken to Google reviews to warn others to only use the car park when visiting the store.

One person commented: "My parents nipped into The Range store and then across to the Post Office and back. They have now been sent a £100 fine from a parking company.

"They paid it as they don't need the stress. They must have been sat waiting to pounce as soon as their foot left the carpark. They will never shop here again."

Another wrote: "We visited The Range, parked on the car park. Nipped to the cash machine first then went into the store. Spent a decent amount of money there.

"Three days later we got a £100 fine for leaving the car park for a few minutes.

"I understand that people use it to to go into town but for us loyal customers that isn't fair. I could understand a £20 fine for people. But £100?"

The ECHO has contacted the Range for a comment.

Their website states: "If you have received a parking charge notice from a 3rd party parking enforcement agency after a visit to one of our stores, you will have to follow the instructions outlined on the documents you have received as The Range are unfortunately unable to take an action on your behalf with the 3rd party agency."
