Furious dad slams Primark for selling 'blade' in children's toy section

A shocked father has slammed Primark after spotting a pizza cutter on sale with children's toys.

The blade, which was pink with a child-like drawing of an animal across the front, was being sold as a £4 stocking filler.

Mat Surtees tweeted the retailer asking if they think it is acceptable to "sell a blade, disguised as a pizza chopper, to children" at the one of their branches in Plymouth.

The pizza cutter, in the shape of a space hopper - popular with children in the 90s - can be seen hanging next to other children's toys and stationery, Plymouth Live reports.

Mr Surtees tweeted: "@Primark so apparently you think it's okay to sell a blade, disguised as a pizza chopper, to children! This was in the children's section of my local Primark in Plymouth."

Replying to the tweet, a Primark representative said: "Hi Mat, thanks for bringing this to our attention, we have passed this to the store management."

And a Primark spokesman added: “This novelty pizza cutter is part of an adult retro collection which was on display in the wrong department.

"The product has since been moved to its correct place in the ‘Primarket’ area of the store.

"We apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
