Furious customer shocked by dangerous place 'cowboy' electrician installed outdoor plug

A "cowboy" electrician installed an outdoor plug in such a dangerous place that a furious customer shared the work on Facebook.

The person from Groby, Leicestershire, took to a local Facebook spotted page to complain about their dodgy sparky and pleaded for another electrician in the area to come over and sort it out.

Posting on Spotted Groby, the person wrote: "I’ve had a cowboy in. Is there anyone from Coalville that can come and sort this please?"

Alongside the message, they uploaded a photo of an outside plug socket on one of their house's exterior walls, Leicestershire Live reports.

The plug itself looks well-fitted and a clean job - but where it was placed is the biggest cause for concern.

The plug was installed directly below an outdoor tap (Spotted Groby)

The electrician has installed their plug under their outdoor tap - the kind of which you would use to attach a hose to - which makes the plug socket incredibly dangerous to use.

The post mused followers of the page, who had plenty of jokes to share about it.

One user wrote: "I can't believe it, shocking!! Surely a silver tap would've been better!? It would match the electric box better."

Another said: "That's totally shocking - how dangerous!"

Other users also posted GIFs of people being electrocuted in TV shows and films, just to drive home the point of how dangerous the electrician's mess could be.

Let's just hope they didn't charge them for it - or at least offered a price below the current rate.
