Furious Bradley Walsh tells 'spineless' The Chase player to pull himself together

The Chase player Scott sparked fury on Twitter due to his "cowardly" tactics on Wednesday's show.

Playing against the chaser Paul "The Sinnerman" Sinha, Scott decided to take the lower offer, which is seen as a cardinal sin by fans of the show.

Scott, a solicitor from Guildford, was playing along with fellow contestants Kelly, Graham and Raine.

He said that if he was to win any money on the show he would take his young child to Disney World in Florida.

Scott accumulated £5,000 in his cash builder round, which Bradley called "very good".

He was the second player to go after Sarah also accumulated the same amount.

When Paul then arrived on the stage, he told Scott: "That was pretty impressive to be honest with you.

"You're a sports fan, you know the importance of teamwork - do what you can go get back."

He offered Scott a low offer of £1,000, telling him "I don't think you'll take this".

But when he gave his high offer of £30,000, he added: "I don't think you're good enough to take this".

Scott asked his team what they thought, and they gave mixed messages of taking the higher offer or staying on £5,000, but Scott did not listen and said: "I think it's important to get home, so I am going to go for the £1,000."

Bradley glared at him, and said "You're a much better player than that! What's wrong with you?"

Scott replied: "It's important to get home and support the team.

"It's important not to be ridiculed every time you step out of your house as well! What is the matter with you lad! Pull yourself together! I can't believe that."

One viewer tweeted: " #TheChase I think the other two should take the low offer just so they win sod all."

Another joked: "Should you wish to complain about Scott taking the low offer #TheChase You can contact the Legal Ombudsman by: calling them on 0300 555 0333. going to the Legal Ombudsman website. emailing them at enquiries@legalombudsman.org.uk. ".

A third added: "When I was on #thechase I could have quite easily gone for the lower offer, what with being 4th up - but I could never lower myself to being so spineless! "

"The coward claims he is a solicitor. He shames the profession. #TheChase " ranted a fourth.

"What a cowardly player. Earns 5k in the cash builder and decides to take the easy way out for 1k " remarked another.
