Funniest comments about this year's John Lewis Christmas advert

John Lewis’ Christmas advert for 2019 has arrived and fans are already falling in love with the star, Excitable Edgar.

The highly anticipated advert debuted this morning, telling the story of adorable dragon Edgar , whose excitement gets the better of him and sees him accidentally melting the ice rink, reducing a snowman to a puddle and setting fire to a Christmas tree.

The story is all about someone who goes the extra mile for their best friend, just like Edgar’s friend Ava .

This is the first time the advert has combined both John Lewis and its partner brand Waitrose.

Fans have anxiously awaited news of the advert’s release, and now they’ve taken to social media to share just how much they love Excitable Edgar - with some hilarious comments.

One person said: “John Lewis got me with that Christmas advert this year, how do I get a pet dragon?”.

Another added: “I cried at the John Lewis advert and I’m not even sorry”.

Others had a more tongue-in-cheek response, with one person saying: “Just remember, a Dragon is for life, not just Christmas!!!”, while another said: "Reminds me of all those dragons from Xmas past."

One person’s hilarious response said: “Looks like John Lewis took the sarcastic comment 'cool story bro, needs more dragons' seriously for this years Christmas advert.”
