Funfair rides, carnival games and some special guests will be bringing much-needed summer entertainment for families.
With events making a welcome comeback after months of lockdown restrictions, a funfair will open in Hebburn on June 10 for a four-day run.
And its attractions will also feature costumed characters including some popular superheroes.
The free-entry event is a collaboration between Newcastle's Budget Taxis and Ashington-based Richardson's Amusements.
It will take place at Jarrovians RUFC in the community centre in St Lukes Court, Hebburn, from June 10-13.
John Robinson of Budget Taxis, which is sponsoring the fair and is renowned for its community work, said: "We are extremely excited to be working alongside Richardson's Amusements on this fantastic event.
"There will be rides and attractions for all ages."
He added: "Expect to see characters in costume, a large funfair with over 20 rides and attractions for all of the family, as well as your favourite carnival games and specially catering."
The rides, which will have various prices, will be cleaned before each use with limits on numbers at any one time. There also will be social distancing and hand sanitiser stations.
The fairground's opening times during the run will be 4.30pm-8pm midweek and from noon to 8pm at the weekend.
John added: "Entry to the event is free and all precautions are being taken to ensure the event is Covid-safe."
"The weather is forecast to be great and we can't wait to see families out enjoying themselves."
