Funeral arrangements for former New York Giants quarterback Jared Lorenzen, who died on July 3 at the age of 38, are now available.

Lorenzen had been hospitalized on June 28 with an infection, as well as heart and kidney issues.

A celebration of Lorenzen’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 10 from 2-6 p.m. with a funeral service at St. Pius X Church in Edgewood, Kentucky, after 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers and other arrangements, Lorenzen’s family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center for Better Health and Nutrition, P.O. Box 5202, Cincinnati, OH 45201-5202; and United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, 8085 Saltsburg Road, Suite 201, Pittsburgh, PA 15239.

Online condolences can be offered at Linnemann Family Funeral Homes.

Lorenzen starred at Kentucky before signing with the Giants as a rookie free agent in 2004. He would remain with the organization through the 2007 season, serving as Eli Manning’s backup and winning a championship ring as part of the Super Bowl XLII team.

After his time with Big Blue, Lorenzen was with the Indianapolis Colts for training camp in 2008 before moving on to indoor football leagues.

Once a Giant, always a Giant. Our thoughts and prayers remain with Lorenzen’s family and friends.
