A mum who died in tragic circumstances last week was a “strong, kind and loving woman”, her funeral service heard yesterday.
The body of 41-year-old Valerie French Kilroy was discovered at her home in Kilbree Lower, near Islandeady, Co Mayo, on Friday.
The Leap occupational therapist had three boys under the age of five.
Her husband James has been charged with her murder.
At a celebration of her life at St Fatchna’s Church of Ireland Cathedral in Rosscarbery, Co Cork, her brother David said Valerie’s sons were “almost unaware of the catastrophe that has unfolded around them”.
He vowed their focus as a family would be for their wellbeing. He requested that mourners pray for the youngsters.
David said: “Above all else please pray for the future of Valerie’s three sons. Please pray they will grow up to be the men their mother wanted to see, with lives as full of laughter, love, joy, happiness and hope as hers was.”
Valerie was laid to rest in a family grave in the adjoining churchyard.
