Funeral details for uncle of Love/Hate star Robert Sheehan who died in house fire tragedy in Co Kerry announced

A tragic Kerryman who was an uncle of Love/Hate star Robert Sheehan will be laid to rest this week.

Michael (Mickey) Sheehan, who was in his 60s, lived alone at his home in Glencuttane Lower near Kilorglin in Co Kerry.

He was found dead after a fire began at his residence the early hours of last Friday morning.

Mr Sheehan, who was the only person in the house, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Local councillor Michael Cahill told Independent.ie that Mr Sheehan's father had also died in a house fire 25 years previously.

He said: "It is very sad news. Everyone is very upset."

Mr Sheehan was well-known in the local area and was an uncle of the Love/Hate actor Robert Sheehan.

A death notice on RIP.ie reads: "Sadly missed by his loving sisters and brothers; Sheila, Mary, Pat, Joseph, Denis and James, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends."

A wake will be held on Tuesday evening (Aug 13) at Flynn's Funeral Home, Killorglin from 5pm - 7.30pm followed by removal to St. James' Church, Killorglin, arriving at 8pm.

Requiem Mass will be held on Wednesday (Aug 14) at 12.30pm followed by burial after in Ardmoniel Cemetery, Killorglin.
