Funeral details for tragic Mary O'Donnell who died in Tipperary road crash announced

A tragic mother-of-four who died in a road crash last week will be laid to rest tomorrow.

Mary O'Donnell, a native of Templemore in Tipperary, died after collision between a car and a truck in the early hours of last Saturday.

The accident took place at Dovea, Bouladuff, Thurles, on the N62, Thurles to Templemore Road.

A death notice on RIP.ie reads: "Treasured mother of Eamon óg, Hugh, Judi and Declan. Grandmother to Emily, Cathal, Darragh, Molly, Lochlann, Daisy & Florence, son-in-law Paul, Hugh’s partner Pauline, Eamon's partner Karena, brother John, sisters-in-law Olive and Sandra, Sr. Mary Britton, Australia, aunt, uncles, nephew, nieces, relatives and a wide circle of friends."

Mary was well-known in local GAA circles and was an avid Tipperary supporter.

Local Fine Gael councillor Noel Coonan paid tribute to her, telling Independent.ie: “We were all excited here preparing for the All-Ireland but news of Mary’s tragic passing has upset us all."

A wake will be held at Grey's Funeral Home, Templemore this evening Tuesday, August 20, from 4pm.

Removal to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Templemore at 7pm, to arrive at 7.45pm.

A Funeral Mass for Mary will be held tomorrow at 10.30am following by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, may be to Emergency Services Benevolent Fund.
