Funeral details have been announced for a tragic young woman killed in a horror road crash.
Amy English, 21, and 23-year-old Conor McColgan both lost their lives when their car collided with a truck in Co Meath at around 1.10pm on Wednesday.
Tributes were paid to the “bubbly and outgoing” young woman whose mum Emma was engaged to ousted ex-FAI boss John Delaney.
Principal Bridget Bennett said Dunshaughlin Community College was “ deeply saddened” by the loss of the former pupil.
She added: “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this tragic time.
“She was an avid basketball player, very bubbly, very caring.
“I know that any staff who were involved in teaching Amy will be deeply saddened, as I was, by this terrible news. It’s a tragic loss to us all and a fine young lady has been taken from us.”
Gardai, ambulance services and the fire brigade attended the scene at Dunmoe on the N51 Navan to Slane road minutes after the collision.
Mr McColgan, who is believed to have been from the North, was driving the car while Amy was a front-seat passenger.
And now Amy's family have confirmed that her funeral will be held in a private ceremony on Monday.
A post on RIP.ie reads: "Following a tragic accident, Amy, age 21, darling beloved only daughter of James and Emma.
"Sadly missed by her devastated parents, brothers Daniel, Evan and Tristan, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, team mates, work colleagues and a wide circle of close friends.
"In accordance with current government guidelines and in the hope of keeping our friends and family safe, Amy’s Funeral will take place privately, Monday June 22, in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium at 3pm. We hope to have a celebration of Amy’s life at a later date."
