Funeral details announced for tragic mum killed in Limerick road crash

Funeral details for a mum who died in a crash in Co Limerick have been announced.

Lyndsey Collopy, 38, from Corbally in Limerick, was killed following a crash involving a car and jeep on the Cork/Limerick border on Sunday.

The mum-of-one was taken to Limerick Regional Hospital, where she later died.

A private Mass will take place for Lyndsey’s family at 11am on Friday in St. Mary’s Church, Athlunkard Street. The funeral will be held afterwards to Mount St Oliver Cemetery.

Lyndsey leaves behind her only daughter, Kaya, her parents, sister, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

The female and male, both in their 70s, in the other vehicle who were involved in the head-on collision were airlifted to Cork University Hospital with non-fatal injuries.

Kilmallock councillor Mike Donegan said: “Unfortunately, it is another fatality, again on a bank holiday weekend.”

He offered condolences to Lyndsey’s family “as they try to come to terms with this tragic and sad loss".

Friends and family have offered their condolences online.

One wrote: “I'm so very sorry to hear of the loss of Lyndsey. My memories are of a lovely, bubbly young girl, always full of fun.

"My thoughts are with you all at this time.”
