Fundraising campaign for tragic woman found dead in Duckmanton smashes target

A fundraising campaign to care for the beloved horse of the woman who was found dead in a field in Duckmanton has been launched by her friends.

Gracie Spinks, who was 23, was found fatally injured in a field off Staveley Road in the Derbyshire village at 8.40am on June 18.

Ms Spinks worked at an e-commerce company and was a part-time model, but her horse Paddy has a special place in the heart of the keen equestrian.

At the wish of her family, all of the money raised by this Gofundme page will be put towards the upkeep of Paddy, reports DerbyshireLive.

Abbey Griffin, the young woman who started the fundraiser, paid tribute to her friend in a message on the website.

She said: "Gracie was a beautiful girl at just 23 years old she had already touched so many people’s lives and what gorgeous memories she leaves behind.

"She was a caring and loving individual and was always happy to help.

"She was also so so stubborn and she’d always stand up for what was right.

"If you knew Gracie you’d also know she was horsey mad and had the most gorgeous horse called Paddy whom she loved dearly.

"Although no amount of money could ever bring Gracie back, I ask that you please donate what ever you can to help her family at this moment. We all love you so dearly Gracie, behave up there."

Although the page has been live for eight hours at the time of writing, it has smashed its £2,500 goal, raising £4,553.
