A Bristol mum has launched a fundraising page for a special needs (SEND) school in Bristol after it was damaged by vandals. New Fosseway School in Hartcliffe was broken into sometime between 7pm on Friday (July 15) and around 5am on Monday (July 18).
The vandals caused considerable damage to the school's furniture, and police say that paint was thrown. Locals are also stating that children's artwork was ripped from the school walls during the incident.
Local mum, Tracey Powell, who's daughter attends New Fosseway School, launched the fundraising page on GoFundMe to help raise vital funds for the school. Over 150 people have so far donated to the cause, raising £3,800.

Writing on her GoFundMe page, Tracey Powell said, "As a result of the break-in, the children weren't allowed into school. My daughter is one of those children, and many other children attend with different special needs.
"I'm hoping to raise enough money so the school can get more equipment and play equipment. Whatever is left over, the school can do something very special for themselves and the children at the school after going through what caused a lot of disruption to the routines of many children."
New Fosseway School is located at the Bridge Learning Campus on Teyfant Road in Hartcliffe. The school supports children and young people between the ages of four and 19 who identify as having Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
After the incident, a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police told Bristol Live, "It is believed entry to New Fosseway School was gained at some point between 7pm on Friday 15 July and 5.20am on Monday 18 July. It is reported that some furniture and doors have been damaged and some paint has been thrown.
"CCTV enquiries are underway to try to identify the person, or persons, responsible. Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call 101 and give reference number 5222170301.”
