Fundraiser in memory of Kilmarnock mum and daughter raises £20,000 in just over 24 hours

A fundraiser set up to help pay for the funerals of a Kilmarnock mother and daughter killed earlier this week has raised more than £20,000.

It's understood that Emma Robertson Coupland, 39 and Nicole Anderson, 24, died after the NHS worker's ex attacked them both within the space of 20 minutes on Thursday night.

Steven Robertson, Emma's former partner, was the sole occupant of a vehicle involved in a car crash on the C50, a road between the B7036 and A76 in the Ayrshire countryside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shocking events of Thursday night have devastated residents of Kilmarnock with many paying tribute to the tragic mother and daughter.

Emma's sister-in-law, Allana King, has set-up a Just Giving page to help pay for the two funerals.

And generous mourners have smashed the £1,000 target with more than £20,000 raised since the page was launched yesterday.

Allana wrote: "As you will all have read in the papers and the news we tragically lost Emma and Nicole over the weekend leaving three young girls without a mum and sister.

"This is also left the three girls to pay for not only one funeral but two.

"I have decided to set up a gofundme page to help try and ease the financial stress of worrying about paying for there funerals, even if it’s just a pound each every little helps.

"Everyone is absolutely devastated and heartbroken over there deaths they were the most funny loving bubbly people I have ever known and never had a day where they weren’t smiling."
