Fundraiser for Honey, the dog attacked by seagull as vet bill looms

A crowd funding page has been set up to help towards vet bills for a dog seriously injured by a seagull.

Honey the greyhound was pecked by the seabird on a Co Down beach, and sustained a severe eye injury which needs specialist treatment.

Now an animal welfare group, Doggy 911 Rescue South Down , have set up a donations page to help towards the unexpected expense of the family dog's treatment.

A spokesperson for the group, said: "We’re going to do a bit of a donation gathering for little Honey.

"Honey’s owner does a lot for rescue animals including two horses and a donkey along with a lot of other animals, and they now have unexpected vet bill to pay.

"Little honey has been left severely traumatised due to this injury and we want to help ease the stress a little bit for her owner who takes care and pride in all animals and does fabulous work for rescue animals."
