Fun Street - Silverburn set for huge entertainment complex for kids and families

A huge entertainment complex for kids and families is to open at Silverburn.

The shopping centre confirmed Fun House will be bringing its first-ever global venture to the south side of Glasgow this winter.

Spanning across two levels, the interactive space will be located next to Pure Gym and Cineworld, amongst Silverburn’s food and drinks arena, and will be jam-packed full of activities for kids aged 0-12-year olds.

Set to open in January 2020, Fun Street is set to house a number of different zones including a baby and toddler area, a giant soft play and ball fountain, as well as a ‘role-play houses’, party rooms, a home cinema, music, and a giant video wall.

Glasgow shoppers will get to experience summer all year round in the tropical beach area, reach for the skies on the augmented climbing wall and enjoy games in the interactive zone.

There will also be a café serving tea and coffee along where parents can relax or catch up on work using the high-speed wi-fi.

Fun Street is a new children’s leisure concept from Dr Usman Qureshi and his wife Mrs Shafea Qureshi, who are from Glasgow’s Bearsden area. Dr Qureshi is a cosmetic doctor at Luxe Skin in Glasgow city centre and his wife Shafea has a background of kids’ events organisation.

Dr Usman and Shafea said: “We had been researching kids’ entertainment centres for over three years both in the UK and abroad. We wanted to open a centre in a venue that was frequented by families and provide a fun offering for children. Addressing the kids’ interests will create a happy experience for all. Fun Street is not just a soft play area, it’s a family entertainment centre providing fun for kids and time-out for adults.”

David Pierotti, general manager of Silverburn added: “Fun Street is a very exciting concept and we’re thrilled Usman and Shafea have chosen Silverburn as their first venture. There is going to be so much to see and do, it will be  the  place for young families this winter.

“With an already thriving leisure scene, including our 14-screen state-of-the-art cinema and 25 food and drink eateries, Fun Street will be the next step for us as we continue to attract brands that give our shoppers a great day out.”
