Fun for all the family on Saturday at popular community event LuncarT in the Park

A community music festival has pulled out all the stops to ensure fun for all the family is guaranteed this weekend.

LuncarT in the Park, a real highlight in the local social calendar, is back with a bang on Saturday following a break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

All roads lead to Luncarty - specifically Brownlands Park - for a day of live music, great food and plenty of laughs.

The event, a fundraiser for football in the village, has a range of entertainment booked in for a 1pm kick-off.

Tunes from Erickson & Lynch, Moonstones and Scoogz is set to keep crowds in high spirits, while the gin and prosecco bar will play its part in keeping thirsty revellers hydrated throughout.

A glass of fizz may be the perfect way to relax after having a scope round the various local stalls that are booked in.

Kids will not be short of options with a beat the goalie challenge and inflatable fun provided by Cee Cee Entertainments just a couple of the activities to look forward to.

Organisers Lindsay Gilmore and Lyn MacKintosh have been busy with last minute preparations.

“In previous years we’ve had a really good turnout from people in Luncarty and local villages like Stanley and Bankfoot,” said Lindsay, who hailed all the volunteers who make the event possible.

“We couldn’t do something like this without the support of people in the community and local businesses.

“It’s a real community orientated event and I think everyone is looking forward to coming along, bringing their camp chairs, meeting pals and just having a good time.

“There will be live music all day in a really relaxed atmosphere and we have loads on for the children.

“This is not just for football people. We want everyone to come along and enjoy themselves.”

Lindsay, who has fingers crossed that the weather plays ball, touched on the importance of bringing the whole community together.

She told the PA: “This certainly brings the community together and also brings different generations together.

“You will see young kids and the older ones who have been in the village for many years now.

“But there will also be a lot of new people who have moved to Luncarty in the past couple years.

“Due to Covid, there has been a lack of things like this going on. So it’s also going to be a good opportunity for those who have come into the village to meet everyone - and see how friendly we all are!”

Tickets have been selling well but, for those without, no need to panic as there will be a ‘pay at the gate’ option.

“It has been a lot of work to get the event up and running,” Lindsay explained. “This will be our third one.

“We are learning every time what we need to do again and what we could do better to take it forward.”

Lyn added: “Ticket sales have been brilliant so far and we are ready to welcome you all to our event.

“You can still pay at the gate on the day, with tickets costing £10 for adults and under 14s free.”

LuncarT in the Park begins at 1pm at Brownlands Park, with the final whistle not set to blow until 9pm. All welcome to come and join the fun.
