Fun food, superb service and great drinks at Headingley's new Indian restaurant

Indian restaurants can often be a bit of a letdown. We've all been dragged along to somewhere that serves drab curry and flat lagers.

But new Headingley restaurant De Baga combines fun touches, great service - and most importantly - quality food.

It's only been open a few months, but has already forged a great reputation among locals, who pack it out night after night.

The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming and take their time to talk you through the menu, recommending some of their favourites.

They'll undoubtedly point you in the direction of the cornetto bites and you absolutely must order them. The smoky aubergine and goat cheese butter melt together to form a delicious filling inside the crunchy corn casing.

And there are no boring, flat poppadoms here. Instead, you get served a huge basket of wacky looking nibbles of all shapes, sizes and colours. It's only a little touch, but it's one that showcases the subtle ways in which the chefs are looking to inject a bit of magic into your food.

You won't find any bland curries either. They all pack a punch and are inspired by traditional Goan food, such as the lamb xacuti.

If you're looking for a cosy, friendly Indian restaurant with great food and super drinks, then De Baga ticks all the right boxes.
