The annual May Day West of Scotland boat jumble will launch their day of fun this Sunday.
Organisers have promised this will be ‘as good as ever’ and the RNLI Roadshow will be on hand to give scintillating safety advice and dynamic demonstrations on how to test life-jackets.
Buyers are guaranteed to ‘find everything they need’ from a new pair of boots to an inflatable dinghy at the boot sale which will be held next to the Maritime Museum Linthouse building.
Be sure to take advantage of the Maritime Museum concession to boat jumble ticket holders with their offer of reduce price admission to all of their displays and attractions.
There are a limited number of car boot spaces available so make sure to snap one up at the £20 price before they’re all gone. The standard 5m x 5m pitches are priced at £30.
A dedicated group of volunteers organise the event every year.
Their aim is to establish a fund to help promote improvements to the safe access into Irvine harbour and to provide facilities for visiting boats and moorings for the local community.
Beneficiaries thus far have been the River Irvine Moorings Association, the Scottish Maritime Museum and Irvine Water Sports Club.
Gates open at 10am. Admission for adults is £4 and free for accompanying children.
