Fuming West Lothian mum blasts bizarre note slamming parking in 'hiking attire'

A bemused West Lothian mum was left stunned after a fellow motorist left a crude note on her windshield blasting her for using family spaces at a popular shopping centre - despite being there with three children.

Julie Morrison branded the anonymous driver a “numpty” after they took aim at her parking in the designated family space at The Centre in Livingston on Saturday afternoon.

The lots are located closer to the entrance of the popular shopping mall and are designated for those travelling with youngsters.

The mum said she was floored when the blunt letter, scrawled on a piece of crumpled cardboard, was placed on her car criticising her for parking there in “hiking attire”.

It also attacked her for having no children on board, despite three of her four accompanying her on the journey.

The note read: “What with your hiking attire and no kids, I would assume a children and family space is not really designed for you.”

Writing on Facebook, Julie said she did not know if it was a case of mistaken identity from another motorist furious over the lack of available parking.

But she added that she was determined to track down the person responsible as she shared an appeal on social media.

Posting an image of her family trip, with none of the children clad in boots, jackets or holding walking poles, she wrote: “Had a note left on the car accusing us of not having kids with us.

“No idea who they’ve seen as none of us are wearing hiking gear. Share this let’s find the numptys [sic]”.

The post has since been shared several times, though the identity of the mystery motorist remains unknown.
