'Fuming' Strictly Come Dancing fans hit out at voting 'glitch'

Strictly Come Dancing fans were left frustrated tonight after a voting 'glitch' saw them unable to vote for their favourites.

Viewers flocked to Twitter to complain following the BBC competition's star-studded Musicals Week.

CBBC star Karim Zeroual and professional dancer Amy Dowden topped the leaderboard after being awarded the first 40 of the series for their Jive to You Can't Stop The Beat from Hairspray.

But when the vote opened following the end of the show, a problem occured.

"Ooh, something wrong there. I refreshed page three times which said voting not open yet, then it said thanks for voting, you’ve reached your limit. Noooo @BBCOne ! #strictly ," said one.

Another fumed: "Can’t vote online!!! No one should leave tonight! This is the message I’m getting and I haven’t even voted!!! Fuming!! #Strictly."

A third commented: "Ummm @bbcstrictly what's up with your online vote it went from being closed to saying I'd already reached my limit. FIX IT PLEASE #strictly #voting #fix."

"Reckon the @bbcstrictly vote should be cancelled this week given that online voting is down. It'd be unfair to eliminate a couple tonight (they'll be filming Sunday's result show soon) based on telephone votes alone. #Strictly ," added another.

A statement was then released by Strictly to its official Twitter account when they became aware of the problem.

The tweet read: "We are aware that there were some technical problems with the online vote this evening and apologise for that. The online vote is now working and voting will remain open until 9pm. #Strictly."

The results have caused quite a lot of havoc in the last few weeks.

As the results show is filmed directly after the live show on a Saturday night, those in the studio audience have been leaking the name of the departing celeb on social media leaving many less than impressed.

The results of tonight's show will be revealed tomorrow tonight at 7.20pm on BBC One.
