Fuming Edinburgh bar hit back at 'crazy' one star review over the wrong table

An Edinburgh bar have hit back at a customer on TripAdvisor after they left an odd one star review.

Brewhemia in the city centre were quick to call out the furious visitor, who appeared to have walked out after being sat at a table they didn't care for.

In a hilarious response, the bar hit back at the complaint, which showed the customer had left after being sat at the bar rather than in the restaurant.

Titled "no point in booking", the review read: "Booked weeks ahead, checked in person the day before, on the night we were asked to sit in a corner of the bar rather than the restaurant we were promised 24 hours earlier, on the basis that was an example of the service we could expect, we left."

After reading the short and sharp comments, Brewhemia quickly gave some witty comebacks, and asked the customer to "take their revenge" in a different way.

They replied: "Have a strong feeling that this review may be some kind of hidden camera show waiting to jump out....

"Booked, confirmed, arrived and sat. Not sure if you wanted to sit in the corner of the restaurant or if you're upset at being sat in a corner?

"We tried a building without corners once before but I have a fear of donuts after a freak childhood incident involving a sugar glaze and I was terrified to come to work, we built some corners after that and I'm happy now.

"Not entirely sure what you booked for as there's not a lot of info in your review but if you booked food we'd put you in the dining area, if you booked drinks we'd put you in the bar area..... crazy huh!

"Next time feel free to speak to us and ask for an alternate seat if you're unhappy - no promises but if we can accommodate it then we will, alternatively you can throw donuts at me until I cry and take your revenge like that instead of leaving a 1* review."

Brewhemia had reopened in May alongside a number of indoor bars and restaurants in Edinburgh, but was forced to close earlier this month after a staff member tested positive for coronavirus.

After closing the premises to prevent any further transmission and undergo a deep clean, it reopened to customers for food and drinks last week.
