Full West Ham squad available for Premier League clash vs Brentford amid late assessments

West Ham United are in Premier League action later today (Sunday) as they head across London to face Brentford.

David Moyes’ side go into this fixture on the back of their Europa Conference League semi-final first leg clash against AZ Alkmaar, putting one foot into the final with a 2-1 win at the London Stadium on Thursday.

The second leg will take place on Thursday (May 18) in the Netherlands, but before that the Hammers will be looking to secure their Premier League status for another season when they face the Bees.

West Ham currently sit 15th in the table seven points clear of the relegation zone with just three games to go. One more win should be enough to guarantee survival and Moyes will be looking to get the job done sooner rather than later.

But they go against a Brentford side who have impressed in just their second season in the top flight, currently sitting ninth in the table. The Hammers have also lost all three Premier League encounters against the Bees in the Premier League so far, although they did claim victory in their last meeting, with Said Benrahma scoring a late winner in an FA Cup third round tie back in January.

As for the team news, Angelo Ogbonna is a doubt to feature at the Gtech Community Stadium. The Italian defender missed the win against AZ on Thursday and Moyes revealed the 34-year-old was ‘not feeling great’ on Friday morning, with Ogbonna the latest victim of the sickness bug that has impacted the West Ham squad since the 3-0 defeat against Manchester City earlier this month.

Vladimir Coufal picked up a hamstring injury in that Premier League fixture and has not featured since. The Czech Republic international is back doing light training although it is unlikely he will be part of the matchday squad against Brentford.

With very little time to recover from the Europa Conference League win against AZ, Moyes admits that a number of players still need to be assessed before the trip to Brentford, including match winner Michail Antonio. Gianluca Scamacca remains a long-term absentee after the Italian striker underwent knee surgery in April.

On Friday, a number of academy players were pictured in training, including goalkeeper Krisztian Hegyi, striker Divin Mubama, winger Armstrong Okoflex, midfielder Freddie Potts and centre-back Luizao. Therefore, Moyes could turn to his academy to make up the squad, with Mubama and Potts being on the bench against Alkmaar on Thursday night.
