Tottenham Hotspur will be desperate to get back to winning ways when they host Manchester United in the Premier League this afternoon.
Spurs, who obliterated United in their previous meeting this season at Old Trafford, have won one of their last three in the Premier League with a derby defeat against Arsenal and a disappointing draw against Newcastle either side of a win over Aston Villa.
Jose Mourinho's mood would not have been improved by a 3-0 defeat against Dinamo Zagreb that saw his side crash out of the Europa League, and a clash against his former side could prove an opportune moment for his squad to restore some of the faith in them.
Mourinho revealed in his pre-match press conference that there was good news on the injury front, with only Ben Davies and Matt Doherty unavailable for selection from the main first-team squad. The club also stated that third-choice goalkeeper Alfie Whiteman is recovering from knee surgery, and thus will not be making the trip.
"Good news," Mourinho stated. "Ben Davies and Matt Doherty are the only players that are not available to play. So they are still injured. Of course getting better. But no more injury news. Everybody available."
Mourinho was also asked about the 6-1 win at Old Trafford earlier in the season, and said that the result does not really reflect the true nature of the battle between the two sides.
"I believe that 6-1 doesn't reflect the reality," he added. "It can happen. Of course it can happen, between two great, the results they can happen in an isolated way. I go much more in the direction of the other two previous matches between us and United.
"We lost 2-1 at Old Trafford, with the penalty, and we draw 1-1 at home last season, also with a penalty. I think this is more the reality. We are not far from each other so I think it is going to be a difficult match for both.
"If Solskjaer is going to use that result I don't know. If it was the opposite. If it was my team losing 6-1 to them I would just say to my guys that it happened once and it's not going to happen twice. This doesn't reflect the reality. The game is going to be tight and we can win, but I don't know, maybe Solskjaer has different things."
