Tottenham will be keen to start Antonio Conte’s era at the club with a win when they host Vitesse Arnhem in the Europa Conference League on Thursday.
Conte will take charge of his first Spurs game providing his work visa is granted in time, and the Lilywhites will be eager to bounce back from Saturday’s 3-0 home defeat to Manchester United.
The north Londoners’ form dipped dramatically under former boss Nuno Espirito Santo, leaving them ninth in the Premier League table, having scored just nine goals in their 10 league games.
Vitesse Arnhem won the reverse fixture 1-0 but Spurs will field a far stronger side for Thursday’s clash, after resting most of their Premier League starting XI for last month’s trip to the Netherlands.
Spurs have had a number of injury problems recently, but they’re very nearly back to full-strength.
Matt Doherty has returned from injury and was an unused substitute against Manchester United. However, Ryan Sessegnon and Bryan Gil remain on the sidelines.
