Full Tottenham Hotspur squad for crunch Premier League clash vs Leicester City revealed

Tottenham Hotspur will be aiming to extend their winning run to three matches when they welcome Leicester City to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this afternoon.

After putting the dismal showing in the goalless draw against AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium behind them with a 2-1 win over North London rivals Arsenal last Sunday, Spurs added another three points to their tally with a 3-1 victory over Newcastle United at St James' Park on Wednesday evening.

That victory on Tyneside, which was a third in Spurs' last four Premier League outings, boosted their chances of securing a Europa League spot for next season.

As things stand, Jose Mourinho's troops are currently seventh in the table, just one point behind sixth-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Premier League match preview: Tottenham v Leicester

Despite Spurs gaining momentum at the ideal time, this afternoon's clash with Leicester will not be an easy task for Mourinho's side.

The Foxes will arrive in North London still aiming to wrap up a top-four finish, with Chelsea and Manchester United also scrapping tooth and nail for the same prize.

Leicester, after being thumped 4-1 by relegation-threatened Bournemouth last Sunday evening, got back to winning ways on Thursday with a 2-0 home triumph over Sheffield United, meaning they remained in the top-four ahead of Manchester United on goal-difference.

And with both Chelsea and United in FA Cup action this weekend, the Foxes have the chance to lay down a marker and put both of them under some sort of pressure, with the finish line quickly creeping into view.

Ahead of this afternoon's clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Mourinho will have to make do without England international Dele Alli once again.

The central-midfielder has missed the last four matches with a hamstring injury and is not yet ready to make a return.

Issuing an update on the midfielder during his pre-match press conference on Friday, Mourinho said: “Dele is not ready. I think he can be ready for the last match.”

Elsewhere, fellow midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is also ruled out with a knee injury.

Meanwhile, Eric Dier will serve the final match of his four-game ban, whilst Serge Aurier, who has returned to France following the death of his brother, and Juan Foyth will also miss out.

Full Tottenham squad: Hugo Lloris, Paulo Gazzaniga, Michel Vorm, Alfie Whiteman; Japhet Tanganga, Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Ben Davies; Oliver Skipp, Giovani Lo Celso, Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko, Gedson Fernandes; Ryan Sessegnon, Son Heung-min, Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela; Harry Kane, Troy Parrott and Harvey White.
