Full statement from NET as trams remain stranded at depot due to major communications issue

A software issue has led to all trams becoming stranded at the depot, NET says.

Nottingham Express Transit (NET) says there is "major disruption" across the entire network as of 6.10am on Friday, August 21.

There is no indication as the how long the trams will remain at the depot and unable to run.

The issues will affect commuters and shoppers heading into the city centre and beyond throughout the morning.

A NET spokesman told Nottinghamshire Live: “A software issue has emerged overnight which is currently affecting all communications between trams and our control room and, as a result, we are unable to operate any services across the network for safety reasons.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and our technicians are working hard to repair the issue and restore services as soon as possible.

“Further customer updates will be provided across all of our social media channels and the NET website and whilst our services are affected NCT are accepting tram tickets on buses, as are East Midlands Railways on journeys between Beeston and Hucknall.”
