Full Spain entry requirements for Irish tourists in June and July after big change

Travel from Spain to Ireland is now back to pre-pandemic life with no requirements for Irish passengers in terms of Covid.

The Spanish government removed the need for Covid certs on Thursday, which was the last remaining block for Irish tourists.

Now all Irish citizens can freely travel to Spain whether they are vaccinated or not.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said: "Passengers entering Spain who have travelled from countries within the EU or Schengen Area are not required to present a Covid certificate or the Spain Travel Health form.

"There are no Covid-19 restrictions in place for travel to Spain from Ireland. There is no requirement to present certificates of vaccination/testing for Covid-19."

You will however have to wear a mask on your way to Spain via airplane because of their local public transport laws - but you will not need one on the plane back.

The department adds: "Restrictions in Spain vary depending on the region. The wearing of a mask is mandatory in all parts of Spain when using public transport, and also in pharmacies and in healthcare settings. You may be required to wear a mask in taxis and similar private transportation/car sharing services."
