'Full on Geordie with a canny left hook' offers to replace Scotty T in cage fight with Stephen Bear

A self-proclaimed 'full on Geordie' offered to save the day by replacing Scotty T in his axed fight with Stephen Bear.

As a young lad, Steven Dale "did a bit of boxing", but admits his most recent scraps took place on Wallsend High Street.

But cometh the hour, cometh the man as Steven claims he fears nobody and nothing - even potentially getting knocked out in front of thousands of people.

And he is now offering to to save the day after the former Geordie Shore pulled out of the Fame MMA scrap against Bear at the eleventh hour.

Both Bear and Scotty T are reality TV stars, linked by Geordie Shore's Chloe Ferry, who both previously dated.

"I'll fight him for £20 or even just a few tickets for the lads I work with," claimed Steven, a landscape gardener.

Promoters have praised his courage, but say they can't sanction the fight. But his bravery has earned some cageside seats.

However, Steven said he would still be happy to "throw a few cheeky digs" if the promoters can't find anyone to replace Scotty T.

"I'll just turn up in a pair of shorts and some gloves. I don't have any MMA gloves like so I'd have to go to a sports shop, but I'm not bothered," said the 25-year-old, who claims he's also got grappling experience.

"I used to do a bit of boxing until I was about 17, and I've had a few street fights but never a cage fight.

"They usually happened on Wallsend High Street but this would be one for the history books, some full-on radgie fighting at the arena!"

Scotty T, Stephen Bear, Sam Gowland and Marty McKenna will be fighting in Fame MMA and Newcastle Arena (FAME MMA)

Promoters have faced a scramble to replace Scotty T after he withdrew citing health reasons.

A previously announced bout between another former Geordie Shore cast members Marty McKenna and Sam Gowland will now headline the Utilita Arena.

However with Bear's place on the card in limbo, cheeky Stephen - who describes himself as a "full on Geordie with a canny left hook" -  insists the offer is there if the promoters are willing to give him a shot.

“We heard Steven has offered to step in for Scotty and take on Stevie Bear this Saturday. As much as it would be a fun story it’s just not something we can sanction unfortunately," said a Fame MMA spokesperson.

"However we’d love to offer Steven two cage side tickets instead of he wants to get close up to the action."
