A 'full of love" four year old boy whose mum noticed a turn in his eye earlier this year has been given just months to live after receiving a devastating terminal diagnosis.
The family of Zack Molyneux, 4, from Eastham in Wirral, were told he has multiple tumours in and around his brain after being rushed to hospital when he collapsed at nursery.
Mum Sophie says she first noticed a "turn" in Zack's eye in March this year and took him to his GP who referred him to an eye specialist.
Shortly after, he developed a limp and began to walk "lopsided", leading Sophie, who is a full time mum of six, to take the Toy Story obsessed tot to hospital.
Doctors suspected Zack had swelling on the brain and he was transferred from Arrowe Park Hospital to Alder Hey Hospital just before his fourth birthday, where an MRI scan confirmed the swelling.
After being treated with steroids, Zack returned home and mum Sophie says it was a week after he had finished a six-week course that Zak collapsed, minutes after arriving at his nursery.
Sophie told the ECHO: "He left house at 8.30 in the morning and my mum took him to nursery. At quarter to nine I got call to say he had become really unwell, he had collapsed on the floor."
He was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital where Sophie says 16 doctors were working to stabilise him as he had multiple seizures, he was then put in a coma and transferred to Alder Hey Hospital.
Last week, after a biopsy on his brain, the family were given the devastating diagnosis that Zack has multiple brain tumours and just months to live.
Sophie said: "He has lots of different tumours spread out over the brain and on the outside of the brain, they haven't got a name for the condition yet, we have to go back on Monday and they'll be doing more tests.
"It just started on his right side and now its spread all over but they didn't notice when he had his MRI, it's all just happened so fast.
Sophie, who has five other children between the ages of three months and seven said: "Its horrific, none of us have really got our heads around it yet.
"I'm really struggling but trying to be the strong one and focusing on what needs to be done and everybody else, the family are completely broken, we have a very big loving family and they are struggling .
"We've got six kids and he was our third, we haven't told the others yet as we're waiting to speak to the Macmillan nurses to find the best way to explain it to them.
"Zack is just amazing and he's such a happy boy. He doesn't know what's happening as he's only just turned four.
"He knows he has a poorly head and a poorly leg, he has to be carried around most of the time now. Some days he can walk a bit and is dragging his leg around but other days he can't, every day is different.
Sophie's step-mum Lynne has set up a GofundMe to help raise some funds for the family to make as many precious memories as they can with Zack over the coming months.
Sophie said: "We want to do a family photo shoot so we've got a picture of all us, you don't realise it but we don't really have one of all of us.
"We want to be able to take him on little holidays, even if it is a little caravan. He wants to go the zoo as he loves the monkeys. He loves Peppa Pig and we want to take him to Peppa Pig World. As a family we just don't have the money for any of these kinds of things.
"He decides now what we have every night for tea and whatever he picks that's what we're having."
Friends and family have also been sharing a 'Green for Zack' profile filter to help raise awareness of the fundraiser because of Zack's love of the colour.
Sophie said: "He's completely obsessed with Toy Story, everything in his room is Toy Story and his favourite colour is green and this where people have started to go Green for Zack on their profiles.
The fundraiser has attracted almost £2500 in donations in 24 hours, with mum Sophie saying she has been "overwhelmed"
She said; "It has made me cry, we just want to make his time now so special and people are being so kind, I've been overwhelmed.
"He's our Zackaroo, that's what we call him, and we love him so much, we just can't get our heads around it all."
