'Full' M32 slip-road closure next week after devastating Tesco fire

An M32 slip-road near Bristol will close next week for repairs after being damaged by fire.

The major Eastville Tesco blaze last year resulted in serious damage and work is ongoing to fix the route.

The closure will be in place from 6am on Monday (June 14) until 10pm next Friday (June 18)

Traffic will be diverted via junction one and back onto the M32 southbound.

A second week of full closures will be in place on Monday, June 28 and a fully signed diversion route will be put in place.

Since May 10, a 13-week programme of work to strengthen the slip road from the motorway to the Muller Road roundabout has been ongoing.

A weight and width restriction was also put in place along its entire length, meaning larger, heavier vehicles are unable to use it.

While the majority of the work so far has taken place during the daytime, the full closure is needed to allow for concrete work and curing to take place underneath the structure with minimum vibration.

Regular updates will be issued on the Highways England Twitter feed @HighwaysSWEST.
