This has been a very frustrating year for everybody in the world.
Words like 'cocooning' and 'lockdown' and phrases like 'flatten the curve' and 'social distancing' were non-existent before 2020 and we hope that come mid-2021, they will disappear forever too.
But as sure as night turns into day, one thing most of us can agree on is the way some people are wearing their masks.
We don't know who needs to hear this but your mask is supposed to cover your mouth and your nose.
But in nine months of a pandemic, which saw one of the deadliest viruses spreading across the country, we have seen people sneezing while masks just cover their mouths only.
Or in another fashion statement, face masks have been spotted acting like chin rests covering neither of the two things it's supposed to be covering.
And we're not alone, as one Dublin hotel has told people off by saying "you may as well not wear it at all".
Paul Stenson is the notorious owner of the White Moose Cafe which is part of the Charleville Lodge hotel on the North Circular Road.
The lodge and cafe are one of the most popular places in the city, not only for their fantastic food, but for Paul's tongue-in-cheek promotions and social media antics.
And he's hit the nail on the head again with this stern warning for future guests and customers.
He said: "If you are going to wear a face mask, can you please wear it over your nose as well as your mouth?
"Do remember air gets in and out of both of these orifices and if you’re only going to half-wear the mask like some form of chin nappie, you may as well not wear it at all."
A meme started doing the rounds shortly after the compulsory introduction of face masks in Ireland earlier this year.
It compared someone wearing their mask below their nose to a man wearing his trousers but in a way where his jiggly parts were still exposed.
So for the love of NPHET, please wear your mask correctly.
